Mark was promoted to
head coach of football at the University of Oregon in 2013.
Helfrich became offensive coordinator of the Ducks in 2009.
Duck Bio
Mark carried a
3.96 GPA in high school. He was student body vice
president and played varsity sports in
football, basketball, golf and track his senior year.
Mark is the son of Mike and Linda Helfrich. Mike was a
very popular and highly respected Marshfield assistant coach.
Mike passed away in 2011.
Marshfield has had many players and coaches who have gone on
to coach at the college level. Another who once walked the
halls of Marshfield High School and went on to be head coach
at Oregon was former Pirate basketball coach Bill Borcher.
Borcher, a Bulldog grad, coached Marshfield to the 1947 state
title. He went on to coach the University of Oregon from
1951 through 1956.
