The Upbeats put on an amazing performance at State Competition in 2004.  The Upbeats were selected first by 8 of the 9 state judges and they earned an SQS score of 89.  This score is the highest score ever earned by a Marshfield Dance Team and one of the three top scores in the State of Oregon, all divisions, for 2004.  The competition routine was choreographed by team captains Casi Brown and Nikki O'Donnell, along with Coach Debbie Brown.  Other state honors went to Drill Down winners, Casi Brown (4th place) and Courtney Schroeder (6th place).  Nikki O'Donnell was selected to the All-State team and also won an academic scholarship.  The team also placed 4th in the state for overall team GPA this year with 3.67, .03 behind first place Sheridan.

Overall this has had a tremendous year performing and competing, bringing home the following:
2nd Place in the Hip Hop and Novelty categories at West Albany High School in Nov.
1st Place at Thurston High School Jan. 17.
A half-time performance at a Trail Blazer game on Jan. 24
Highest score earned (although not competing) at Marshfield High School Jan. 31
1st Place at Woodburn High School Feb. 28
1st Place at the OSAA State Championships March 19 & 20

Special thanks to all of you who sponsor and support the Upbeats.  You are Greatly appreciated.
